Link external dim text

  1. This is from the help system, but I still don't understand. I thought
it would either show or not show text that I typed into the dimension
box in the PropertyManager like this (<DIM> TEST) but it didn't seem
to change anything. Any insight offerd out there?

"Link external dim text. You can right-click the top-level icon in a
drawing FeatureManager design tree and select or clear Link external
dim text to control whether text added to a dimension is displayed.
Text added to a dimension in a drawing becomes an attribute of the
dimension. The default is to have the option enabled."

  2. It looks to me like this.
When you add Model Items to your drawing, and then add text to the
dimension that feature puts in the drawing. When this option is
checked it also adds the same text to the model. If this is not
checked the text is only added to the drawing. Why would you use
    this. Derrr I duh no!
I guess it is possible that you would want to see these notes while
editing a model but your guess is as good as mine.
