  2. Was AutoCAD running on this system prior to installing XP SP2? If so, what
OS were you running when things were working?

In general, I would make sure that I was logged in as a local administrator
of the computer then deactivate all virus and security systems, uninstall
AutoCAD, reboot, make sure virus and security systems are still disabled
    then reinstall.

  3. Here are a couple more things to check:

    1. Do you have administrator privilege to install a service ?

    2. Is the service installed ?
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
    C-DillaCdaC11BA
    - Start type = Automatic
    - Service status = Running

    Regards,
    Efim

    Hi Efim
    Thanks for your response.
Yes I do have admin rights
no the C-DillaCdaC11BA service is not running
it is set to automatic however it will not start bringing up the following message

    Could not start C-DillaCdaC11BA
    service on Local Computer
Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or contol request in a timely fashion

I have checked the file exists in the correct location and all seems ok. The file is version 4.20.20.0
Any further Ideas to get the service running?
    regards
    Alex

  5. Hi Alex,

Some information I'd like to gather from the machine on which you are seeing
    this problem:

    - The CdaC11ba.exe on disk (email me the actual file (rename the
extension so it gets through email, and search the whole disk).

    - Check the Logon properties of the service - check to see what account
it is logged on as - should be local system account with no user
    interaction. (see attached for reference).

    - In the registry, an export of the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\C-DillaCdaC11BA

Using regedit, open the the registry and navigate to this key. Select
it, then choose "File -> Export" to create a *.reg dump of the key contents.
Send this to me (again I'd rename the extension to get it through email)

    Regards,

    Dear Efim
    Thanks for all your help
I have cured the problem with a total uninstall including safecast and registry edit and a full reinstall with a new license No
    No further problems so far
