    Hello Experts,

I went through the previous posts by Andrew Beckett and Bernd Fischer
concerning this error, but still I get no conclusive answers.

-I'm using IBM 0.18u cmos design kit
-The latest and the best possible icfb version 5.10.41.500.4.81 (USR4
    with latest ISR).
-NOT using any Verilog or VHDL for spectre simulation.
-Using elements from analogLib with vdc, res and gnd elements to build
    a test circuit.
-Using "setenv CDS_AHDLCMI_ENABLE NO" makes the below error disappear.

And I get this error from spectre in the simulation log:

    --------------------------------
Failed to compile ahdlcmi module library, see ahdlcmi/
    _amsc_ibm7rf_IBM_PDK_cmrf7sf_relML_Spectre_models_mvcap33.va.ahdlcmi/
    for details
Could not open ahdlcmi module library
    ahdlcmi/
    _amsc_ibm7rf_IBM_PDK_cmrf7sf_relML_Spectre_models_mvcap33.va.ahdlcmi/

    ahdlcmi/
    _amsc_ibm7rf_IBM_PDK_cmrf7sf_relML_Spectre_models_mvcap33.va.ahdlcmi/
    obj/Linux2.6.17-1.2142_FC4+gcc/optimize/libahdlcmi.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    ---------------------------------------

As suggested by Andrew in previous posts, I looked for the real error
    in the simulation directory
and looked for contents of ahdlcmi.out:

    ----------------------------------------
    /cadence/ic5141/tools.lnx86/systemc/gcc/install/bin/gcc -shared -O3 -
    fPIC -o obj/Linux2.6.17-1.2142_FC4+gcc/optimize/libahdlcmi.so ./obj/
    Linux2.6.17-1.2142_FC4+gcc/optimize/installdev.o ./obj/
    Linux2.6.17-1.2142_FC4+gcc/optimize/mosvarcap.o -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib -
    Wl,-rpath,/lib -s
    /cadence/ic5141/tools.lnx86/systemc/gcc/install/bin/ld:/usr/lib/
libc.so: file format not recognized; treating as linker script
    /cadence/ic5141/tools.lnx86/systemc/gcc/install/bin/ld:/usr/lib/
    libc.so:5: parse error
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    gnumake: *** [obj/Linux2.6.17-1.2142_FC4+gcc/optimize/libahdlcmi.so]
    Error 1
    ------------------------------------------------

Where is the problem? Who provides this libahdlcmi.so?

Any thoughts? Can I completely ignore this error for my chip if I dont
use any HDL for my design? Please educate me!!

    Thanks very much,
    Raghavendra
