Level of detail for Animate explode?

    Is there a way to set the level of detail for the AVI in animate
    explode/collapse? It doesn't respond to the LOD slider on the
    Options|Performance tab. The on-screen animation uses that setting, but the
    AVI shows the LOD blocks instead of the part details even with LOD set to
    off (slowest).
