    What is the best way to use SolidWorks to generate text/lettering for sign
    making. Assuming output to dxf for waterjeting or laser.

    Thanks

  2. Depends on the builder/control.

    Our Omax takes DXF and DWG

  3. Sketch / text , Choose your font.
    --> extrude .1 mm
    Create a drawing with no template. Save as DXF.

    inspect your dxf text closely if you take that route--there's a bug in
    creating the dxf that can result in some very odd geometry in the letters.
    It isn't scheduled to be fixed until 2005 SP2
