    hi all,

I've a very lengthy drawing in Autocad(like a railway track). I need to convert it into bmp or jpeg. I tried the export option in CAD, it exports only the visible part which is seen in the screen though i select the entire image. Now i'm converting it into bmp piece by piece, and pasting it again.

I want to know whether it is possible to convert the entire image in single export or any tool(third party) available to perform this conversion.

    thanx in advance

My previous answer didn't address your problem correctly. What is it that you want to do with bmp or jpg? If you need a "picture" then how about pdf? This is a free program and you get a picture without ability to change. Go to ttp://www.acrosoftware.com/Products/CutePDF/Printer.asp. For free download
of CUTEPDF application. This application allows user to make pdf viewing files of dwgs. Automatically installs in system and then is available through plot. Viewing available only through Adobe Acrobat Reader. PDF files can be added to Word documents thru Tools>Basic> “Snapshot” feature which puts
a picture of the pdf file on Notepad.

You need to load the jpeg printer driver, then you can just print
"extents" to a jpeg file. It works great. If it's not already loaded,
just go to add new printer and add it in. The defualt settings seem to
    work pretty good.

  10. DaveS,

There must be a delay between you posting and it coming up in your
newsreader. Please either try and refresh your newsreader or exit/enter back
into the discussion group to see if it has been posted. This might be a
setting on your end, or just a delay on the server's end...

BMP and JPG are poor choices for raster output of vector drawings.
