lba code to link access and autocad

    i would like to work on a program that will extract the file name when i
    open a drawing in autocad (which is also a job # ie. j:/03188/dwg/xxxx.dwg).
    and use that # to link it to our access database, and write some info to a
    file, like the job # maybe the clients name, date, and time spent in dwg.
    anyone help me get started, or steer me towards an existing program. any
    help would be appreciated. -mike r
