    Hi,

    Say I have 2 dwg files, file A(with layers 0,1,2) & file B (with
layers 0,a,b), and I want to show both layers 1&2 from file A on the
map B. Also, I want the layers 1&2's properties remain the same
    (linetype,lineweight etc.)except the color setting's different shown
    on the map B.

Any suggestion, please? (tried layer isolate and transfer, not working)

    Thanks, U'all

I want the layers with different color setting on map B rather than
their original setting on map A.

In a previous post H2 says...
Can't you simply copy Map A file to a file named Map B then change the
    layer colors?

If you need them both in the same drawing then XRefIN.

  6. Whether you XREF or WBLOCK, this is simply done by changing the layer colors
    in the destination file.

If you use Xref, can't you assign colors and such to the new xref layers?

For example, when drawing a house in plan I want layer 1-wall to be green.
on my site plan, I Xref the house onto the site plan, which creates a layer
    called
    house|1-wall
I can edit the properties of the xrefed layer house|1-wall to be any color I
    want.

    Am I somewhat clear here?
    Hope I've helped...
