    Hello,

I want to know if someone know how to launch Acrobat Reader and open a
pdf file with a basic command under MicroStation.

    Thanks

Don't know why you have to do it via a macro from ustn? Always same pdf?
Seems easier to have a shortcut in your windows desktop.

But have a look at TOOLS>Engeneering Links in ustn. You can attach a E-link
to any dgn-element and it will open your web-browser. And you can point to a
    file in your own system.

I'd still like to know how to call a pdf from a Usnt command so I can
program it into a Barmenu item.

  6. Hi Scott,
    Please use key-in:
    start [path]AcroRd32.exe [path]\[file_name].pdf

If your Acrobat Reader installed in "Program Files" directory, you must use 8 char name of this directory - "Progra~1" f.e.

I have one problem with this solution - after AR start a message "There was an error opening this document. The file does not
    exist.".
But if you press the OK button, document [file_name].pdf will open. I think that AcroRd32.exe not started from own directory and
this is the reason. AcroRd32.exe can't load some configuration/settings files.

    Regards
    Krzysztof

Thanks, I'll try that. I think my problem was using the quotes to define
the path instead of using the 8 char name.

  8. Hi Scott,
The problem is when in directory name is [SPACE]. Long names without space are OK.
When start command found [SPACE] interpreted it as end of program definition.

I've noticed the space problem. I thought quote marks would tell Ustn that
the space is part of the path, but it still gets confused. I hope this is
    ironed out by v8.5.
