last opened file

    Windows always places me back at the beginning of the folder when I open a
    new file. My question, is there a setting that would not return to the
    beginning of the folder, but instead return to the last file I opened. This
    is really handy if you are not sure which file you need and are browsing.

    I find the solution

    In Windows Explorer
    Tools>Folder options>View
    clear the Hide file extension for known file types option
