    Due to injury I need to use the keyboard in Autocad to act as my left
    mouse button... does anybody know how to do this?

    HiHo;
    Try editing the "acad.mnu" file. in the "***AUX1" section.
    It probably looks like this now...........................................
    // if a grip is hot bring up the Grips Cursor Menu (POP 17), else send a
    carriage return
    $M=$(if,$(eq,$(substr,$(getvar,cmdnames),1,5),GRIP_),$P0=ACAD.GRIPS $P0=*);
    Now assign this to another key, say Crrl+spacebar. Good luck. I thought
    boeing used
    CATIA.
