We are in the need for a new plotter, but I have to justify it.
How about some ideas for justification for a new plotter.

I have a couple, our plotter is 10+ years old and there will be no drivers released to work with AutoCAD 2005.

    Can anyone help out ??

    Thanks.

Do you currently bill your clients for plots? If not implement that as a
(contractual) standard practice and calculate a return on investment (i.e.
"it will pay for itself in X months").

released to work with AutoCAD 2005.

It's simple math: If *your* plotter won't work with AutoCAD 2005, then you
have two choices: send your plots out, or buy a new plotter. How many
charges for plots provided by an outside vendor (not to mention re-takes
because you didn't see the errors until after you paid for the plots!) will
it take to pay for a new in-house plotter?
