join more than one surfaces to one solid

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Anders Carlsson, Mar 4, 2008.

  1. Hello all SW users
I have some planes in diffrent angels and distans,
on every plane there is a surface without thicknes,
can I 'join' them or 'combine' them to one surface,
then make a thicknes or extrude it to one solid part.
The mining of this operation is to make a Sheet metall part.

    Best regards
    /Anders

You can thicken surfaces (Insert --> Boss --> Thicken). If it is
possible, knit the surfaces together before thickening.

It iis possible to turn any uniform-thickness part into sheet metal
with "Insert --> Sheet Metal --> Bends". Part can have square bend
corners but must be uniform thickness.
