We need a person who can be a production manager and wants to be a plastic product designer. This person would be responsible for managing a few workcells and assembly workers in a nice manufacturing space. Responsibilities would include keeping up with inventory, ordering materials and components as necessary, shipping and receiving and keeping up with production requirements. The job would include performing some of the assembly and testing the units before they ship. The machine that is going to be manufactured is low volume (50 units per week) and fairly complicated. We would also like this person to have some exposure to Pro/E and a degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree. This is an opportunity for a bright person who wants to become proficient in Pro/E to learn and work in a manufacturing environment and be involved in product design. You will be working with bright people who are knowledgeable about plastics and design. There is a Pro/E "guru" who will show you anything you want to know. If you think you are this person, send me an email and we can setup an informal telephone conversation for some Q&A before submitting a resume and work samples. ncarothers at tecrep dot com
