Can anybody help me with some issues with V14. I know it is an older version
but it's what I have and will probable do all I need for now if I could just
    get some things working correctly.

    issues:
    1) when I create a drawing from a viewport (lets say I have two viewports in
paper space) and when I draw on one of the viewports, I get the identical
drawing in the second as I would expect.....however I also get the drawing
on the screen as if I'm in tile mode....how do I get the tile mode drawing
to not show up on my screen (and the printed page).

    2) when I use a paper space pre formatted (supplied by autocad) page ...ie
ANSI A or B ......that should fill an 8 1/2 X 11 page on my
printer.......well the problem is that when I do a print preview the whole
page borders and all (everything is there) is shown on my preview as very
tiny, as in 1" X 2" in a small area of the page and that is exactly how it
prints; I hope that makes sense. So how do I set things up so that the page
that is supposed to print at full size (8 1/2 X 11) actually does print full
size. I have done it before but somehow things got screwed up and now I
don't know how to fix it. A little help would be great.

    Thanks
    Mike

sounds like you have more viewports over viewports. erase all in PS & create
    2 new ones

    plot>window> pick area
make sure the scale is checked "fit to page"

sounds like you have more viewports over viewports. erase all in PS &
I tried that with no success.....even created a new drawing and the first
and only thing that I did was start ANSI A page then created 2 viewports and
when I selected one of them and drew a circle it ploted in the other as well
as over top of both viewports.....?????? What the heck is going on?
Did that......makes no difference.....in fact I think the drawing got
smaller on the page it printed on by about 1/2.
Any other ideas? I'v been trying to resolve this for a couple of
days....have read everything I can about PS...VP's and plotting and can't
    seem to resolve it.

    Thanks for all your help

  4. I think the problem here is that we are struggling to understand you
situation. A thorough explanation of what you are doing and what the results
is required before we can help. I'm very familiar with r14, but don't
    understand your problem.

I will try to better explain the situation.

when I open a drawing, a new drawing and chose the ANSI A template which
should print out on an 8 1/2 X 11 page I get a paperspace that has the
borders defined on my viewing screen into which I create viewports (it
doesn't matter how many) and start to draw in model space, I get the circle,
box, line that I draw in all view ports and I also get the geometric drawn
objects on my screen as a whole just like as if I am in tile mode. If I stay
in paperspace of course I only get the object that I draw where I place it
as would be expected. I don't however expect that when I'm in model mode and
drawing in a particular viewport that I should get the same object in all
viewports with the object also in the middle of the screen like I'm in tile
mode. It just doesn't make sense. This has never done this in the past but I
believe that somehow in tweaking the system once last week when I was trying
to print something directly from tile mode to the printer I changed
something and am not sure what and how it got changed or how to change it
    back.
I sure hope this makes better sense.
I really appreciate any help getting me back on track. I will stick with
this problem until I get it resolved then we can move on to the problem with
the paperspace representation of the drawing being so small when it prints
out that you can't believe it, it's like 1/2" square.

    Thanks

another option is to insert the titleblock in modelspace, then you dont need
to mess with paperspace or view ports.
just scale it up to whatever size you need

  7. Let me point out the parts I still don't understand below:

Read that last sentence. I don't get all of it. It sounds like you are
drawing with tilemode set to 0, but with modelspace the current space.
Modelspace object only appear in modelspace.

If all ports are zoomed on the same area, and you draw something in that
area it will appear in all ports, unless the ports are filtering specific
    layers. This is typical behavior.
It sounds like you need a tutorial on paperspace. Have you consulted Chapter
12 -- Layout and Plotting in the help file?

I use R14. Perhaps you could send me the drawing for a look-see?
