I have an interview Tuesday for a Drafting position and I was curious
as to what type of tests do people generally give applicants.

Any help or stories of previous experiences would be helpful.

    Thank you!

In this day and age of "zero tolerance", I usually end up being given a
urine test. Hair testing is becoming more popular though, I've been told.

I have only ever been asked once to do a test which was to measure up
and draw without dimensions the basic model of a simple plate with a
couple of holes in, in Autocad 2000 in 3D (unusual to use Autocad 2000
    for 3D).

    good luck

Once when I was hiring a draftsperson I devised a simple test.
It consisted of an isometric view of a hopper on angle legs with a pipe
drain and flange at the bottom.
The applicant was to draw the plan, elevation and sideview of this thing
    with orthographic projection.
One applicant hadn't done a thing after half an hour and still asked if
    she could have the job.
The winning applicant did the views plus a bottom view showing half the
flange and stating "symmetrical about centerline". He was a Polish
trained engineer who was content with a drafting job.

    garth.
