Intersecting a line with a 3D solid

  1. Hi,

In Autocad 2000 or later, how do I snap the intersection point of a
    line with a curved 3D solid ?
For example, I have a line that penetrates through a curved 3D solid
and I want to draw another line starting at the point of intersection
of the previous two objects. OSNAP is ON but the intersection point is
not detected. (Manually referencing "_int" doesn't make any
    difference).
If the object is a 3D face instead of a curved 3D solid, the
intersection point between the 3D face and the passing line is not
snapped either. I checked "Drafting settings" to see if there were
configurable parameters for scenarios like this, but I didn't find
    anything.
Autocad 3D features are way more sophisticated than snapping the
intersection point of a line and a 3D object, that's why I think I must
    be missing something.

How is this kind of object snap activated ?
Can anyone give me a hint please ?
    Thank you,

    Fernando Ronci

  2. I don't know of a snap that will work in this case. What I have done in
the past was to set a temporary UCS to the line, then do a Section of
the solid on that UCS, then I can use an int snap between the section
    and the line.

    Hope that helps....
