If there is anyone still here that:

    A. Is interested in CAD on Linux,
    B. Wants to dump micro$oft, but can't due to the lack of a good CAD
    program.
    C. Is sick of autodesk.
    D. All of the above :)

Then this will be of interest to you:
    www.bricscad.com

    'bout time!!

Linux is cheap but you get what you pay for...I am not anymore
inclined to go back to typing commands from a prompt since I started
    using Windows...

I do not want to dump Microsoft. It is a good OS. It has constant
development. It has free upgrades or patches for its errors. It is a
good platform to develop your applications via VB or C. Think about it
    for a moment...before Windows came into existence...since 1950's when
the computer first came around up to the incorporation of Microsoft
sometime in the 1980s there was no development....for 40 years, people
were using the prompt to command the computer...then after Apple &
Microsoft came ... within 20+ years...a simple programmer like me can
write software applications easily and sell them to make a
living...based on the Windows OS...I could do that using Binary
    codes...
so Windows is a good OS. Linux is just a throwback to the old days of
computer operations but with a lot of HYPE from Sun Microsystems &
    other UNIX OS manufacturers...

As to AutoDesk...no I am also not sick of AutoCAD...like
Microsoft...it made CAD user friendly...Remember the COGO days?
Compare that even to AutoCAD 14 and you can see the ease of use....

    hth...
