    Hi there

i have to make some dwgs (with autocad2005)
using a certain kind of font called
    "akzidenz-groteske" that i have in
various formats .pfm, .pfb, .afm, .inf

I used adobe type manager to install the fonts
in my pc and that was good, i used it in
photoshop or adobe illustrator without problems
but i don't know how to install it in
    autocad!
    any suggestions?

thanks for your time ; )

    ciao

Those are PostScript fonts; AutoCAD no longer supports PostScript fonts
(since about R12). If you can't find TrueType or .shx equivalents, about the
best you'll be able to do is to use the AutoCAD COMPILE command to convert
the .pfb to .shx. The result will probably be disappointing, however, since
this process results in "hollow" (non-filled) fonts.

thanks a lot for your help
    this is from autocad:
    "Command: compile
    Compiling shape/font description file
Compilation successful. Output file E:\12 Disegni\files
    ricevuti\Akzid-Grotesk
Cnd EUR 90037\49037511.shx contains 52482 bytes."

    what does this mean?
is "EUR 90037\49037511.shx" the name of the font
    akzid-grotesk ->converted in .shx file?
I cannot find it (i made a search through all C:/)

And also i don't understand the difference between
    hollow and not-filled fonts

btw, thanks a lot for your help

Read the output file path and name again. This would explain why you can't
    find it on C drive.

After you find the file, put it in the same directory as all of your other
    SHX fonts.

Since the .shx file was written to drive E: (read what you posted...),
you'll have more success if you search there.

Hollow and not-filled mean the same thing; which term you use is a matter of
    preference.
