Inkjet printing ?

I do PCB assemblies using AutoCad r13.
Traces are polylines, pads are solids, then I have just standard text
    for part referances (C1, R1...)

When I print to an inkjet (grayscales) I loose my text info behind the
polylines, or solids. Some text that visably I can see on the screen
(text above the solid or pline) gets lost when printed (behind the
solid or pline), same in reverse (all this in a seeming random way).

    What I've tried
choosing differant colors for text vs solid/pline
    (text black, solid/pline ligher tones)

Adjusting pen widths, and pen line styles

None of these seem to work.

Does anyone know how to force one color or object to print with some
    priority over others.

    thanks bill

  2. I think the problem has to do with "merge" capabilities. On my HP plotter I
can have lines merge (using HPCONFIG) but on my HP DeskJet I can't. Without
merge it means that whatever is on top will print, but not what is below it.
As a work-around, you could try selecting all your text and using the
DRAWORDER command to bring it all to the FRONT.

Or, maybe someone else will chime in with a better idea?

I forgot to post I'm using a deskjet.
In the same vain my work-around was to block all text then insert it
back into the drawing. That seems to work. I was hopeing for a layer
or color that I could choose instead. Thanks for the DRAWORDER command
though I'll check that out today.
