When a user starts Microstation se , this message appears "initialing
of dynamic link library orservrd.dll failed but If I log on to the
same PC and start Microstation, there is no error message. I think it
is some kind of access limitation but do know what. what do you think
is the problem ? the oracle client is 8.1.7.
    TIA.

  2. i remember oracle client 8.1.7 is not supported in se; i suppose that in
some way running microstation on the server it does not need to inizialize
some oracle parts that give the errors, but in other cases orservrd.dll
looks for specific dll's names that are changed through different oracle
    releases

you may use an older client (i.e. 7.3.4) to connect to a newer server
(8.1.7), you can have multiple clients installed on the same machine you
only have to set different oacle homes, and use oracle home selector (an
oracle utility) to choose the primary.

you may try to obtain a newer version of ustation dlls (that were released
for MSJ), and try to use them

but maybe the only reliable solution is switch to ODBC client
