in context reference error- help

    I am trying to replace a part in an assembly with another. When I
    attempt to do this, I get an in context reference error. But when I open
    the part file, there are no in-context/external references...... What
    gives? Anyone ever seen this before? There was, however an external
    reference in another part to this one, but I deleted it. still didn't
    fix the problem......

    I'd like to actually finish this project.......anyone?

    Dale,

    Thanks, but the error results when trying to replace a part in an
    assembly with a large number of mates. I ended up having to delete the
    offending part and start from scratch. oh well..
