* IN ASSEMBLY VIEW BALLOON?

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Not Necessarily Me, Feb 6, 2007.

  1. Forgive if it's been asked before. What does it mean when you have an
    asterisk (*) in a balloon on an assembly view of a drawing? I can set the
    balloon to custom and then back to item number and it is correct until you
    do a rebuild, then it goes back to being an asterisk...

    TIA,
    Jeff

    The component you are ballooning is probably not in the BOM that is being
    referenced. This can happen if, for example, you are using assembly configs
    and the component is suppressed in the config on which the BOM is based.
