Importing text files with columns

    I would like to know if anyone has found a way to import a Word, WordPerfect
    or Excel file utilizing newspaper type columns into a sheet and have the
    columns work as they do in word processing program. I want to create a page
    of general notes in columns that can be edited, preferably with text that
    will flow from one column to the next as I add to it or delete from it. I am
    willing to learn a new program if you have found something else that will
    work other than the three named above. If you have some other solution other
    than columns created in a text file I would like to hear about that too.
