    Hi,
    I sometimes take data from a measurement machine and want to import
    into autocad 2000 so that I can recreate the shape. The data takes the
    form of a text file where lines are described by the X and Y co-ords
    of their start and end points and circles by their centres ( x&y) and
    radius.

    I know I can Cut and paste each value in acad as requested but i was
    wondering if their was anyway i could format the file so i could
    import it in one go.
    Sometimes I could have a part with maybe 100 entities.
    I,m afraif I don't know a whole lot about acac. Thanks

    HiHo;
    A script file should do it.
    Post some of the data file and I will start the script for you.

    Thanks;

    Here is a sample of the data to import.
    I have already edited it somewhat to make it easier to import and this
    is very little work compaired to entering the points in Acad.
    I look forward to seeing how it should be done.

    Step: 5
    Line

    +008.2655 -043.1364
    +010.7749 -043.1139
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Step: 6
    Line
    +008.5680 -000.2420
    +014.5421 -000.3127
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Step: 7
    Circle
    Radius +004.6191
    X Location +014.4902
    Y Location -004.9234
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Step: 8
    Circle
    Radius +003.6581
    X Location +014.6070
    Y Location -039.4182

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    PS. In the case of the lines above the first line is the x and y
    coords of the start point and the second line the x and y coords of
    the end point
