Image Plotting Problem

I have a user that has inserted a .jpg image into their drawing via the
Image Manager, the image goes into the drawing fine and everything looks
great when they switch to a layout tab, however, the problem appears when
they try to print it. For some reason, when they submit the drawing to plot
from one of our HP1055CM plotters, the inserted image plots out in tones of
brownish/green as opposed to gray scale, which is what the image is. I know
the work-around for getting an drawing/image to come out in gray scale,
however, he needs to plot using a .ctb the allows for color as he's added
some line work that needs to be represented this way on top of the gray
scale image. I've tried numerous ways of trying to resolve this and as of
yet, I have been unable to do so.

    We're running the following set-up:

AutoCAD 2002 with all the service packs installed
    Windows 2000
HP DesignJet 1055CM - Optimized driver - by HP
    Acad.ctb

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

  2. What color mode is the JPG? CMYK, RGB or grayscale?

Is the greyscale jpg really greyscale, or is it CMYK or RGB jpg, with only grey tones in it. One possible problem you are facign is that it is a CMYK jpg, and AutoCAD, which has no CMYK support, is trying to interpret the greyish tones in it as RGB data.

Open the image is a decent image editor, like PhotoShop, and check the color mode settings.
