Is there a way of manipulation Iges files within solidworks?

If not is there a software package that will?

    Yes and yes.

Search the newgroup. This has come up a lot.

What is it you are trying to do?

I am trying to delete a set of square holes along a complex surface. I need
a smooth surface to get a negative mold (combine command)

So when I get the mold the surface has to be smooth.

    Are you also Jason Parr?

The filled surface tool comes to mind.

However the best you can get for smooth is G1.

am trying to delete a set of square holes
Curiosity question: You can't somehow delete the hole trim boundaries?

  6. Control select an edge on each of the holes and then right mouse button.
Pick Edge/Delete. Make sure the Option "Delete holes" is picked and select
OK. You should be done, provided the edges are simple enough. It has a
harder time doing it if the edges overlap multiple surfaces or are complex.
