I have some doc files, how can I generate pdf file

    I need to genarate pdf file, I have some doc files, how can I do that>,
    To generate pdf file, do I need any tools to be installed, I have
    windows OS and Linux OS both. thanks.

    on a linux box there most likely already is everything you need...

    OpenOffice will read *.doc files (even damaged ones M$ word rejects),
    print to postscript file or directly to pdf if it is the latest OO.

    If not there is ps2pdf which is part (complement) of ghostscript
    that will easily convert postscript to pdf.
