PLotter requests that I replace all the ink cartridges, so i did so and
replaces everything else (ink, printheads, cleaner cartridge) and all was
well for about an hour, then was asking me to replace them again. I pulled
them all out and cleaned the plotter from head to toe. Replaced everything,
wrkied for about 5 minutes, and then got teh error again. IT came up and
replaced a circuit board in teh back (I wasnt here so i have know idea what
was acutally replaced, the other desiogner said it as a circuit bord, which
one I dont know, and IT wont tell me, whatever, thats another story). After
replacing the aforementioned board, worked for a day or two, then the error
came back. Company doesnt have HP Service agreement cuase IT siad they had
an agreement with HP for parts. Well, now it isnt working. Everytime I plot,
the plotter beeps, says to replace the printerheads, even though they are
new, and I have to override the error "Printerheads may reduce printing
quality" on every single print. I do a lot of batch plotting and gettting up
after every sheet in getting a little annyoing. IT cant figure out the
problem and wont anwser the phone. TIA

I have been having the same problem on my 1050C. Recently I had the
authorized service rep. come by for a service call. He cleaned and aligned
everything and then installed new print heads. About a week later I notice
green ink being scattered on my drawings. I pulled the ink cleaners and
there is green ink every where. I pulled the print heads and there is green
    ink on then as well.

I call the authorized service rep. and he tells me that I am due for a new
print head carriage and other things, to the tune of $700. I wrote the
purchase req. and am waiting for the parts to arrive so he can install them.
I sure hope this fixes it. So now we are out the $150 service call, $450
for new printheads and now the $700 repair on the carriage.

I am not impressed with HP, to say the least. This plotter is only used by
me and not that often. I have had it for about 4 years. I would hate to
think how early this plotter would have died in a normal group work
environment with many people plotting to it all through the day, every day.

I will let you know it this latest fix solves the problem.
