Does anyone know if there's software that you can interface with an HP1050c
plotter? It would enable me to access the plotter menu from my pc desktop
instead of having to walk over to the plotter and pressing buttons - like
managing the ink levels, "Que and Nesting", "Sheet", and "Roll" menus.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi Tom,

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I don't think there is a WEB interface to the
105X line. The 5000 and 5500 has this option though.

Wish I had better news for you.

  3. Hi Tom,
the HP1050c has a web interface.
It is (in my case, explorer 6.x), not always accesible, lots of Java code.
The functions are mostly just for configuration, like TCP/IP settings etc.
Simply type the ip-adress into your browser.

What you would like is not implemented, would be great though.

    Sorry can't help you further.

How is your plotter connected to the network?
If it is connected via the rj45 (Jet Direct) connector, you have it made. I
am not sure if you can do it via parallel cable.
Locate the IP of the plotter (the ports tab of the properties dialog), enter
the found IP in your web browser, and viola you are changing the settings.

    Tom,

What you want is HP Web Jetadmin, you can download it from HP/Compaq's (or whoever they are these days!) website. It allows you to check things like ink levels and manage the network status. You can also do some limited things with the built-in web interface on the device itself, although it's very limited.

As far as things like queueing and nesting and the sheet/roll menus, etc. unfortunately, some of those items are ONLY accessible by using the control panel on the plotter.
