I have an opportunity to buy a demo model cp1700 at half-price
and would appreciate comments from current owners.

Primary concerns are reliability and compatibility with ADT2004
print/plotting driver choices. Performance is an issue but is
secondary to quality and fidelity of prints and rendering.

We have one of the CP1700's here at the office and I bought a reburbished one for home.

We use for making 11X17 reduced drawings in monochrome and for printing smaller versions of colored renderings. The color is very good, the resolution is excellent. Printing a lot of copies tends to be a bit slow, but I'm not sure you'll do better in another ink jet printer. If you need speed, get a laser (if you can afford it) :)
