We recently migratted from a Novell network to a Windows 2003 network. Since then, we have been having problems with our HP Colorpro CAD printer. Every job we send gives us the following error: "Tray 1 Load Plain Custom". We then need to load the paper manually. (The kicker is if you preview the drawing before plotting, it will send it to the correct paper tray).
I know that I have all the software print settings correct. I have tried new XP drivers without any luck.

I have also found that many people have reported this problem in various discussion groups but I have not found any solutions.

Can anyone help me with this one???

We've got an HP1700 that had a similar problem. I found that settings
for trays and paper sizes had to be done in the general and advanced tab
under the printing defaults and preferences buttons.

    Maybe this will help,

If i have to change my printer you could be sure that it will not be an HP!
