I am buying a hp 500 Designjet plotter. Does anyone know if I need the
hp-pcl3-gui, adobe proscript version of this plotter. Or what this is even
for? I print standard acad drawings I have acad 2002. I do alot of 3-d
    drawings.
The difference in price between the base model and the proscript is about
$800, I am not sure wether i need it or not.

They both come with 16 meg of memory that I will have upgraded to 64meg. Of
course i will have to buy and accessory card for $459 and the memory for
$166. Does anyone think I do not need this memory? I would hate to spend
$600 when i dont need to. Most of my drawings are 20 to 30 meg in size, Im
not sure what that is in plot memory. Will the plotter crap out with out the
additional memory or just be slow?

Thanks in advance for any help

  3. This plotter was designed as a graphic arts plotter. You only need the
postscript module if you intend to plot out of Photoshop, PageMaker,
Illustrator, or something of that ilk. AutoCAD/ADT and Microsoft
    Word/Excel/Etc. don't require Postscript.

I am getting a (c7772a#aba)hpgl/2 accessory card. They say i need that to
add memory. Is that the card you are refering to? or do i have to add
    somthing to it.
That card is $459.00, I am adding 64mb simm memory to it.
should this set me up good?
