How to...

  1. Hello to the group!

My question is how to, in layout view, achive sections to be rotated for a
specific angle, if the building is also made in that direction?
I mean, if the walls are drawn with some angle, if I place a section of this
part, than some construction parts (in this case ventilation ducts) will be
drawn as "out of the wall". So, i want to get the section with the same
angle as the building, so the ducts are right there where they should be.
I really don't know if this function is manageble in AutoCAD.
Oh, and the ver. is 2004.

    Thanks for the A's...

  3. hrv/srp??
    maybe i have to explain...

you know, when you create a new layout and in this layout you want to show a
    section between two lines.
but problem occurs when walls of the building aren't in a straight line, but
under some angle. so, when i draw some ducts parallel to the walls they
apper shorther, out of walls etc.
so, my Q is, is there any way to rotate the layout view the way that the
building and the ducts drawn are shown as they appear on the plan view. what
i mean is, as straight lines.
to be exact, the building walls are drawn under the angle of 70°, ducts are
    parallel.
in the layout view i want to rotate the section so, when looking at the
section drawing i see straight ducts, walls as they should be... otherwise i
get the section view with some ducts out of the walls, which isn't the way
when looking at the plan view (top).

  4. Sorry. Only like a two-year-old.
    Two lines?
Wall faces parallel or skewed (tapering)?
You can rotate the view in a floating viewport, which is what you have in a
    layout, by :

1 entering the port (Command: mspace, then click in the port)
2 If you know the angle of rotation, use DVIEW>>TWIST>>enter the angle
3 If you don't know the angle, set the UCS parallel to the wall
    (UCS>>E>>pick line)
4 If 3 above, the use PLAN>>Enter>>Enter, then zoom to restore scale
    factor.
5 Draw the section from the plan.

    Does that help?
