    Hi Everybody,

I have a part. In a drawing I want to create a front view and show a
sketch with it's dims but not the solid body. Is this possible? It's
    never come up before.....

    Thanks

  2. A 30 second quickie test with a VERY simple part says yes you can. I
couldn't "import model items", but reference dims work okay.

    Use "hide solid body".

  3. I don't know if there is a better way but if you create a configuration with
the solid body hidden and make a view of it then in the tree of that view
right click the sketch you want to show and select show sketch.

Another way would be to extrude it as a surface feature. Then it is still
just a single edge the shape of the sketch. I don't know if there is an
advantage to that the lines seem to be thicker.

I was able to import model items

  4. Yep. Had to select "Include items from hidden features".

    Thanks guys,

I guess the caveat I should have mentioned was the requirement to have
other 'normal' views (ie solid showing) in the same drawing.

I got around it by making a config for 'sketch only view' then creating a
design table, and suppressing features in the one config to hide the body.
(don't know how to hide a body in between configs in a design table)
