how to increase characters to be used create a part name

    hi friends

    when i create a new part or assembly i can give only 31 chracters as
    file name. how to increase the number of characters to create a file in
    Pro-E.

    i too have the same problem. i have to save part or assembly with
    drawing number and name of the component as per standard. i could not
    create new part with more than 31 characters. can this problem be soved?

    The best way to solve this problem is to change your procedures and not use
    ridiculously long file names. I suggest using the part number only.
    Intralink cannot handle very long filenames either. This is compounded by
    Intralink adding the path and workspace name, and long names will not be
    retrievable on assembly. If you ever use Intralink you will have to rename
    all your files.
