Is it possible to import an autocad drawing in corel with the properies
    of the plot from autocad?
In more simple words to import a drawing in corel with the sizes of the
pens as they would appear in printing and not all the same as they
    appear in the screen.
    thanx!

  2. To paraphrase an old theatre piece:

To the OP, depending on your versions, you can't do this in one step. With
newer versions of CD, you will get your layers imported, and if you
generally draw BYLAYER and plot by color, you can then easily select the
contents of each layer and then apply an appropriate graphic style. With
older versions of CD (or Essentials) you can make HPGL plot files, one per
lineweight, and import them into Corel. They come in as a group to which you
can apply a graphic style with the properties you want. With the latter
process, remember to give yourself registration geometry for final sizing
    and alignment of your groups.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Michael.

btw (OT), in your 'Hillside Garden', what is the material to be used in the
    stone wall?

I construct Keystone and Belgard (concrete block) walls:

Couldn't find the water features in your plans . . . I do water features, too:

    Nice work, Michael.

  5. Don't know yet. That job is bogged down pre-design, with some other
    issues....
Whatever it is, there's going to be a bunch of it though....
    Where are you located?

  6. I missed this line at first glance:
Same explanation: haven't designed it yet....Wish I could start that one
but it won't be for a while due to forces beyond my control. In the mean
    time the lake house is
taking up most of my time, with the interior design and the "field review".

    Thanks ; )

    Northern Virginia.

The only thing bogged-down here is the willingness of folks to spend $ on their
yard after spending USD 250K-700K on their house (the landscaping is Minimalist,
at best, and usually much the same thing around a housing division) ;-/

There are more refined shapes/types of really nice-looking, structurally-sound
wall products out there for us every week, though--fun stuff.

Very exciting to do residential landscaping--the shot of the stream in the
previous post was from a ~1900m^2 backyard: a 32m^2 pond in one corner that
feeds the water 45m up one stream, and 20m up another--they merge just above the
pond to feed the loop again.
I bet: I've heard some nightmares about specs and rules--like being 15cm too
    close to the road with a foundation . . . .
Just wanted to say 'howdy'--stop on back here at alt.corel when things get too
technical, or you have the chance: we're designing a better world, and work
    only in 1:1 scale ;-)

  9. I'll give it a shot. I frequent Corel's own groups, but I'll add it to my
    list.

    Uh oh.

We were supposed to be working to scale?

    Whatever happened to "artistic license"?

    Cool. http://www.altcorel.info/faq.html

Be prepared for a relentless barrage of messages, though--has a tendency to
    infringe a bit upon work-time ;-)
