Anybody knows how to get network adapter's MAC address? Thanks.
From console of machine, open dos prompt and run ipconfig /all That will give a screen full of info, including the physical address (the MAC address) and IP address... Mark Evinger
Hi, do you need MAC address for Network License? If yes you need to run LMTOOLS and check not MAC address, but Ethernet address. Regards, Efim
In windows xp (i think it is standard) start a command prompt and type GETMAC. you can also get the tool from http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/tools/existing/getmac-o.asp more options if you type GETMAC/? you have the options for remote systems, etc hope this helps Swerza
In most cases I think you are better off using IPCONFIG /ALL. This is because it tells you more about the MAC addresses it finds in your system. This can be important in choosing the MAC address you use to obtain a license against. If the MAC address is associated with a logical device then the license will fail if the logic changes. If you have a choice, choose a MAC address associated with a removable Ethernet adapter. This way you can move the adapter to a new machine and reuse your license file in the event of a system failure.
