How to debug the distributed simulation startup?

Discussion in 'Cadence' started by Michael Ritzert, Dec 14, 2005.

  1. Hi all,

I'm trying to run a distributed simulation in our net. All hosts share
the executable and home directories via NFS.

Both cdsDPSetupChk and adptest report no problems. Still the simulation
fails. The only error I get is
'Cadence® Analog Distributed Processing option: Job `job032' failed
    with exit status = 1'.
The jobmonitor shows status 'ABORTED' for the job with the note
'Job dispatch failed; Verify the PATH and setup requirements on
    execution host 'host''.

Using tcpdump I can see that there is no network traffic to the
execution host, so things have to fail earlier.

How can I get more debug information?

Cadence version is 5.1.41 USR 2 on Linux.

    Regards
    Michael

    Michael,
Log onto sourcelink and/or use the following link to access some
debugging info for distributed sims. You could also try searching for
    the following solution # 1809104 titled "
Problem Statement: Cannot run remote simulations with spectre and
    spectreS
under the Analog Artist simulation environment, with extra emphasis
    on IBM platform issues

Short Description: A variety of remote simulation problems and
    debugging techniques

    http://sourcelink.cadence.com/docs/db/kdb/1996/Aug/1809104.html

It seems like a old solution but a lot of stuff is still valid...

I would have copied and pasted the actual solution here except that I'm
a bit hesistant given the sometimes overly sensitive corporate legal
    issues about confidentiality....
