How to create a virus with a CAD program?

    CAD & CAD/CAM systems only create data (part, as an example) files.
    Not executables (usually).

    I guess you've never heard of MS Word macro viri?
    It doesn't have to be a direct executable file to be a virus. And
    considering Solidworks has VBA built in, it's entirely possible.

    Those are executable files, Steve.
    While VBA files might be viruses SW does not create them,
    does it?

    You can always use an API bit of code to write a specific
    bit of code to a file & then execute it.
    Things outside the normal course of events, usually.

    Naturally, if you are creating executable code of any
    sort the sort is a bit unlimited in scope .... nothing unique
    to SW or any CAD system in that.
