How to constrain the shaft

The shaft protrudes through a plate that has an opening to guide along
    a path as it spins.
The shape of the path is irregular. How do I constrain the shaft of
    the path.
    Thank you

    Hi Michael

your guidepath must be a spline, create a referencepoint (not a
sketchpoint) on the spline. Use along curve distance.
In the assembly constrain the point and the centeraxis of the shaft.

Have a look at my sample

or the Reference Point sample at Mike J. Wilsons website
