    Hi everyone,

I would like to know if I can use a SW fonction to calculate the
    internal volume of shaped part.
The part I have is a little free form shape kind of part.
My idea is to use the molding fonction in another assembly and try to
find the internal volume with this... but I think it's a bit to
    complicate.

    Somebody have an easyier solution??

    Thanks.

your on the right track. Not very hard at all -- just make sure that your
part is 100% closed to where nothing could "leak" out. You could even model
a cap if it has openings. Then insert into an assembly create a cube that
will encompass all of the parts, edit the cube, & use the cavity function
selecting all the other parts in the assembly except the cube. As long as
sw will create multiple bodies by doing this it will ask you if you want to
keep all or selected bodies. Now just select the body inside your part &
your done. You will now have a part that is the inside shape & will update
when the part changes. you can then even use that part in a drawing & link
to the volume of that part so that you have a note that will update on the
drawing per changes to the model!.

    hope this makes sense

You can do this without the help of an assembly by simply extruding another
solid over your solid with the merge unchecked. The subtract bodies and
take the mass of the "core".
