How do I make rectangle align side with curve?

    I am just learning autocad 2004, and have a question. I am currently
    working in 2d, and have a rectangle, and a shape I created subtracting a
    half circle from a square. So I have this small rectange
    (representing 2x4's) which I need to have the short side moved and
    rotated to have one face tangent along the face of curve. I also would
    like to have the 2x4's spaced every 6" along the curve if there is a way
    to do that also.
    Thanks,
    P

  2. Look into the ARRAY command. Use the POLAR option.

    I see know how I can use the ARRAY command with the polar option
    to do the stud spaced around curve. How do I determine how many
    degrees will give me 6" spacing?
    Thanks,

    HiHo;
    Length=Radius * AngleInRadians
    or
    Chord/2*Radius=sin1/2AngleInDegrees

    Hope this helps.

  5. That's a GEOMETRY question, and not a very clear one at that.
    Are your '6" spacing' radial or along the curved path? Are they from
    tip-to-tip
    or center-to-center?
    Paul's suggestion will do the job if you aren't very good with geometry.
    The insertion point of the block becomes critical if you use MEASURE, as you
    will see....

    I am the original poster on another account. I am referring to having
    2x4 studs spaced with 6" centers along the curve path. I have created
    a 2x4 block already.
