How can I make a raster image part of the drawing

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Andrea Kürzl, Jul 10, 2003.

  1. Now the situation is that: I have a link to a jpg-file in my dwg.

    When I send my dwg by mail, I also have to send the jpg. The other user has
    to correct the path for the applied jpg on his compuiter.
    It would me more convinient for him to have this all in one dwg. But: How to
    do so?
    Thanks, Andrea.

    Assuming your reference to "mail" means e-mail:
    Old fashion way before bonus/express tools = Search your entire hard drive
    for all the files associated with the drawing and gather them into a single
    folder.
    Pre 2K4 = bonus/express tool Pack n' Go.
    2K4 = File > eTransmit

    Open the image in your favorite editor and copy it to the clipboard,
    then paste into AutoCAD as an OLE object. It is now part of the
    drawing file and you do not have to send an external image.

    Right, but OLE is much more difficult to "draw over" than an inserted raster
    image.
