I have a user that would like to have a hot key to clear selections.
I do not see a keyboard item to customize. Hoping that someone out
there would have some insite on setting this up. Any help here would
be most appriciated. Also i have already gone through all of the ways
to call this up by RMB with the user and they still would like this
    hot key ability.

Thinking out of the box means that you are constraining yourself to in
the box thinking. Always think beyond the box, in fact think that
there is no box. You will be supprised how far you can go.

  2. Just use the 'ESC' key?

  3. The best hotkey I know for that is the Esc key. Works every time.

  4. Another thought - a macro to clear selections tied to a hotkey.

also, just clicking in a blank part of the graphics window will clear
    selections.

If you're talking about clearing selections when you're outside of a
command, then as others have said, either ESC or just click in blank space
is as good a way as any.

If you're talking about inside a command, that might be trickier, because
there can be multiple selection boxes in commands like loft, sweep, certain
fillet types, etc. It would definitely require a macro if it can be done
at all. Manually, it requires a rmb, delete selections.

    Anyway, good luck.

Matt is right here. the user was looking for this need inside of
dialog boxes like in a measure window. I figured that this might be a
unique item. i am adding it as a enhancement request to SWx to allow
    setting this as a hotkey.

BTW Thank you all for your input. MRW
