Home Button in UI?

Apple gave everyone a heads up on making a user interface more
    accessible.

When you need to "revert", "go back" "start over", or "begin again",
there is one button to hit.

Given that occassionally, users in very complex programs sometimes get
a tool they are not totally familiar with or an arcane option or way
of setting up the tool, or its alternate, could there be a use for a
"Home" button (regardless of what you name it), so the user could
quickly delve into that & related tool & option uses.

What this may amount to is a way to rethink how "Help" files are
    delivered.

With an outline form of information delivery for such a "Tool Help
Button", it would be able to deliver a lot of information WITHOUT
scrolling endlessly through 30 pages to find what you want as you open
outline headings to look for the heading/s you want.

Hence, is this or something else, a better way to deliver closely
relevant information "when things go awry"?

Think I should have named the topic better.
