why does changing a hole wizard hole from blind to thru (or vice versa)
cause my mates to become invalid and my drawing annotations become dangling?

i don't have a lot of complaints but this one is starting to get really
    annoying.

    Mr Kenneth,

Because of the holes - when they are remade so also it the surfaces of the
    holes are remade.

The olden mates knows not the new surfaces. Only the "replacement of the
mate entite" will make the mates re-healthy.

    Very Regardfully,

yeah but ... if you do a regular cut-extrude (c'sink hole) and change from
blind to thru the surface does not change (i.e no lost mates or dangling
annotations). hole wizard seems flawed in this regard.

  4. If you look at the sketches that SW puts in for a thru hole and the sketch
for a blind hole you can see that they are different. The blind hole has a
drill point and the thru hole does not. It seems that when you change to a
thru hole it replaces the sketch with a new one with new lines creating a
new surface. I agree with you that it is silly that they don't use the same
sketch and just change the dim to past thru all to make sure the drill point
makes it all the way. In a regular cut extrude when you change from blind
to thru it doesn't use a different sketch entity to create the surface. Try
this in your regular cut extrude delete the circle you are making thru and
replace it with a new one and you will see that your mates should become
dangling because of the new sketch entity. If you need to do this just put
some outrageous depth for on your blind hole like 240" or something instead
of changing to a thru hole, it won't affect anything negatively that I can
see, and it will give you your desired result.

    Regards,

The down side of the outrageous depth is when you use the hole callout
command in a drawing it will list the thickness of the material at the point
of the tapped hole as the depth instead of a "thru" hole/tap. You'll have
to manually edit each hole callout in the drawing that was done this way to
change it from a controlled depth callout to a thru callout..

And also too remembering the not having of a pettern for the later usages.

This too is too make rounded extrudes cut not the best for to be used when
for all they need is the holes made.

    Thank you very much please.
