    Hello,

I'm new to the customisation/programming side of ACAD and i'm wanted advice on what books/websites would be useful for a novice like myself........
I have a large number of drawings that all need certain layers deleting of objects and purging from the drawing. Obviously, to go into each one manually would be very time consuming and i'm sure there are more efficient methods to undertake this form of batch drawing updates. Any ideas please, I don't expect 'code' to be given me but would just like a leader/advice to get me started.

    Thanks,

    Dom

There is Superpurge which purges everything at one time and some things that normal purging can't handle.

Welcome the world of utter confusion. Here is a good site to have beside
    you when learning... http://www.afralisp.com
There use to be a fantastic site... "AcadX", but they shut down (rumour has
it they are going to be back under a new name). As for other help, it's
hard to beat what we have right here. Post a question, give it some time,
and chances are you will get a response from someone who has already done it
or knows where you can get your hands on a product that will do it.

    Good luck,
    Tim Badger

  4. I've started teaching a short class at the Greater Chicago AutoCAD User
Group (GCAUG), so try your local AUG. There are many AutoLISP tutorials on
the internet (my tutorials also). After you have learned the basics, this is
the best place to learn more. Try searching this NG for your interest, most
issues/problems have been discussed here at one time or another.

    Hi Dom -

Welcome to the Autodesk discussion groups. A small hint on
getting the best help possible while posting. Make your subject
line as distinct as possible instead of a generic "Help". The
more info, the more people will read. Maybe this one could have
    been "Batch drawing updates/deletions".

Lots of help to be found here and eventually passed back.
