Help with 2004 Network Install

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Michael Veilleux, Jan 8, 2004.

  1. We are running (2) PCs with network versions of ACAD 2002, LDT, CAD Overlay and 3D Studio VIZ. Seems so long ago that I did the network installation, I now have the 2004 CD in front of me...and am at a loss on where to begin.

We are running a windows 2000 server.

This is the first network upgrade for me (as we always ran stand alones)...Do I have to start from scratch again?

    Thanks for any help...

  2. Well..I suppose I will just start from scratch....

Can someone tell me where I install the License Manager? On the server or locally????

  3. You'll have to start from scratch on the locals, and reinstall the LM. They
changed versions between 2002 and 2004 to allow for license borrowing.

Install the LM on the server, and create all new deployments following the
installation guide. It's fairly straightforward, but if you bring some
detailed questions, I'm sure you'll find some help with them. Good luck!

  4. Thanks...I am at a point where I have a question.

At the Client Installation location, I am being asked whether or not to run in silent mode......silent mode??

  5. You'll generally want to run in Silent mode. That's an install with no user
interaction, a generally desired, set-it-and-forget-it feature.
