Help. Cadence Spectre Simulation

Discussion in 'Cadence' started by qjin.research1, Jun 26, 2007.

  1. Hello,

Just met a strange problem while running Spectre simulation. I
was trying to change the instance parameter (resistance value) and see
the change of waveform. After I changed the parameter and rerun the
simulation (third/forth try), the waveform shows the previous
simulation result. I need to exit ICFB , then restart it to run the
simulation in order to get the correct waveform.

    Any suggestion? Thanks!

I've had this happen. Try Simulation->Stop instead of a full quit/
    restart,
    and see if that helps.

I guess you need to do the re-"netlist and run" instead of re-"run" because
you have modified your resistor parameter. Cheers.

  4. Are you using wavescan? Are you running spectre in batch mode or
interactive mode? A colleague claimed that running spectre in batch
mode under ADE caused wavescan to lose connection. Do you get funny
warning messages in CIW when you check and save?

If your version still support AWD, try to enter ADE-Window -> Session -
connection to the simulation data in all kinds of circumstances. (And
    the Calculator is better, IMHO)

  5. hi, Svenn,

Thank you for this very helpful tip! I changed from Waescan to
    AWD, and it works! :))
